18 Vehicles Failed to Pass Emission Test

South Jakarta Environment Sub-agency facilitates mobile emission test at Setiabudi Sub-district Office. As the result, there were 18 vehicles failed the test.

South Jakarta Environment Sub-agency Head, Mohamad Amin, explained those failed vehicles were 15 motorcycles, two gasoline-fueled car, and one diesel-fueled car.

"Totally we tested 87 vehicles with 18 of the failed. We appealed the failed test vehicles to do routine maintenance," he explained, Thursday (6/13).

Amin added one special emission test vehicle is deployed for this free emission test.

"We will continue to intensify this emission test as an effort to improve air quality in Jakarta," he added.

Previously, he continued, emission test held at Pesanggrahan Sub-district served 76 vehicles.

"Efforts to improve air quality require joint participation. It's best to use public transportation. Private vehicles must be maintained well to avoid more pollution," he continued.

Meanwhile, one of motorcycle riders, Anto (35), admitted his vehicle passed the test since he routinely do maintenance.

"Thanks for the agency for providing this free emission test," he said.
